Wednesday, November 20
6:30 am CST (7:30 EST) Depart from Lakeside Commons on N. Green River Rd (by ONB)
Feel free to bring your favorite morning snack and beverage.
Thank you for not bringing any milk or milk products on the motorcoach.
As we travel, we will stop for breaks and lunch.

8:15 am EST (7:15 am CST) Depart from Ferdinand – behind Wendy’s

Lunch is included at Cracker Barrel.  

4:30 pm EST After a brief stop at our hotel to check-in and freshen-up, we head to the German Village area of Ohio’s capital.  
A step-on guide will tell us some of the histories of this unique area, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

5:45 pm Dinner at Schmidt’s Restaurant und Sausage Haus.
J. Fred Schmidt opened his meat-packing house in 1886.  
His grandson, George F. Schmidt, opened this nearby restaurant in 1967.

Thursday, November 21
Buffet Breakfast is included in the hotel.   

7:30 am (optional) A local guide will show us the highlights of downtown Columbus.

9:00 am Tour Anthony Thomas Candy  
As we walk along the glass-enclosed catwalk, we’ll see the Anthony Thomas process which produces 30,000 pounds of chocolate each shift. Yes, you can purchase some of the product in the retail shop!

10:00 am National Veterans Memorial and Museum
We will see and hear individual stories of the men and women who have given service to their country in the military. The group visit will start with a short guided tour and then you will have time to explore on your own.

NOON: Lunch is on your own at North Market.

1:30 pm American Whistle Corporation
Here at America’s only metal whistle manufacturer, we’ll see how these legendary whistles are made.

3:30 pm Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens
In 1852 these 88 acres were set aside for public use. 
In addition to the normal beautiful floral and glass displays, the Conservatory is hosting a new full-scale Chihuly exhibition. Chihuly: Celebrating Nature places the artist’s works throughout the Conservatory’s botanical gardens and courtyards. This exhibition is the largest Chihuly collection in a botanical garden.

6:30 pm Dinner at Franklin Park

Friday, November 22

Buffet Breakfast is included in the hotel.

8:00 am Depart from the hotel and travel to Dayton, Ohio.

10:00 am National Museum of the United States Air Force
The history of the United States Air Force is on display here.  
Inside the Museum’s massive hangars you can see historic aircraft and space vehicles from Mercury, Gemini and Apollo eras. Recently the Presidential planes were moved from the adjacent Wright-Patterson Air Force base property into the Museum. You can walk through four Presidential planes.
Please note that weapons are not allowed and that bags may be searched.
You may be asked to show your state-issued picture ID before entering the Museum. 

Lunch is available in the Museum. (on your own)

1:00 pm EST Depart from the Museum

We’ll take a break on the way home.

5:00 pm CST Return to Evansville (after dropping-off at Ferdinand on the way) 
Return time is approximate, depending on traffic.
