Saturday, September 26

7:00 am Depart from Lakeside Commons on N. Green River Rd (by ONB)
As we travel, we’ll stop for breaks and lunch.
This afternoon we’ll check-in at the Holiday Inn Express in Fort Atkinson.

4:45 pm Arrive at The Fireside Dinner Theatre

7:30 pm After dinner we’ll enjoy ”Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”.

Sunday, September 27

Breakfast is available in the Holiday Inn Express.

8:00 am Depart from the Holiday Inn Express

Late this morning we’ll arrive at the Door County Visitor Center.
We’ll meet our local guide who will be with us during our stay on Door County.
This afternoon our tour to Door County begins! Today we explore these sites.

The Old Rugged Cross. Here at this church, the traditional hymn was written.
Lunch is at The Lodge at Leathem Smith.

Sturgeon Bay Shipping Canal. This canal provides for safe shipping from Green Bay into Lake Michigan. Lighthouses! We will see both the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal North Pierhead Light and the Canal Lighthouse

And we’ll make a photo stop at Al Johnson’s, where you’ll see (weather permitting) goats on the roof!

Late this afternoon we’ll check-into our home for the next two nights, Rowleys Bay Resort at Ellison Bay, Wisconsin. 920-854-2385

This evening we’ll enjoy the Chef’s Choice Buffet at the Resort.

Monday, September 28

The Breakfast Buffet at Rowleys Bay Resort starts our day!

8:30 am Depart from Rowleys Bay Resort.

Our day on Washington Island starts with a ferry ride!

Today we’ll take in the sights of Washington Island.

 
Washington Harbor/School House Beach
Historically, this was the site of the first schoolhouse in Door County but today we’ll enjoy the beauty of this quiet, stony beach.

Washington Island Farm Museum
Farm buildings from around the Island were re-assembled and displayed here along with old tools and implements. Special emphasis is given to the period 1870 to 1940.
Lunch at Findlay’s We’ll enjoy a cup of soup and a sandwich and dessert.

At Mann’s Mercantile we’ll shop as the locals do.
Here you’ll find t-shirts, jewelry and the best fudge in Door County.

We’ll see Washington Island’s Stavkirke (Church of Staves),  which was built based on drawings of one build in Borgund, Norway in 1150.

Stop to pick up goodies at Fragrant Isle Lavender Farm and Shop.

Our visit to Washington Island comes to an end and we’ll ferry back to the mainland, returning to Rowleys Bay Resort.

This evening’s dinner is a real treat! Starting with the Storyteller for Fish Boil, we’ll hear and see this interesting Door County tradition. And then we’ll enjoy the resort’s Fish Boil Dinner Buffet.

Tuesday, September 2

7:30 am The Breakfast Buffet at Rowleys Bay Resort starts another day!

8:30 am Depart from Rowley’s Bay Resort

Before leaving Door County we will stop at Bjorklunden Chapel.
The chapel is modeled after the Garmo stave church at Maihaugen in Lillehammer, Norway. 

Lunch is included at Water’s Edge Restaurant in Two Rivers, Wisconsin.


2:00 pm CDT Set sail for our voyage across Lake Michigan aboard the S.S. Badger

During our four-hour cruise, we will enjoy dinner

7:00 pm EDT Arrive in Luddington, Michigan

After checking-in at our hotel, we’ll enjoy a bedtime snack.

Wednesday, September 30

Breakfast is included in the hotel.

8:30 am DeKlomp Wooden Shoe and Delft Factory

Here you can buy authentic Holland souvenirs. The Delft Factory is the only production facility in North America for this Dutch pottery.

9:30 am EDT Depart from Holland, Michigan

5:00 pm CDT Return to Evansville (Return time is approximate.)
