Saturday, October 1
Depart from Lakeside Commons (by ONB on N. Green River Rd)
Our group will depart from Evansville and settle in for a wonderful week.
We’ll stop for breaks and lunch as we travel north.

Dinner is included in Potawatomi Inn.

Overnight: Potawatomi Inn on Pokagon State Park by Angola, Indiana (D)


Sunday, October 2
Breakfast is included in the Potawatomi Inn.

9:00 am Departing from Pokagon State Park this morning, we’ll continue our journey to  Michigan’s “Little Bavaria” – Frankenmuth.

Lunch is on your own in one of several nearby eateries.

1:30 pm We’ll start our visit here with “pretzel rolling” - make your own!

Guided tour of Frankenmuth.

While in Frankenmuth you’ll find shops, fudge and Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, the world’s largest Christmas Store.

6:15 pm After hearing the Glockenspiel signal 6:00pm, we’ll enjoy the Family Style Chicken and Kasseler Rippchen Dinner at Bavarian Inn
It’s a Frankenmuth tradition!

Monday, October 3
“Oma’s Breakfast Buffet” starts our day.

8:00 am Depart from Frankenmuth.

Arriving in Mackinaw City, you can find a place to eat lunch and enjoy the views of the bridge and see Mackinac Island and Grand Hotel in the distance.

2:30 pm After lunch we’ll take our Ferry to Mackinac Island.

Upon arrival on Mackinac Island, we will take our horse-drawn wagon ride to Grand Hotel, where we will be greeted by the hotel staff and given a packet of information about the hotel.

Dinner is included at Grand Hotel.

Please note the Dress Code for Evening Attire:
Coat and tie for gentlemen and dresses, skirts, blouses, dress sweaters and dress slacks for ladies are required attire in public areas of the hotel after 6:00pm.
If you don’t want to dress up for the evening, offsite dining options are available. More information is available by visiting the hotel’s website.

After dinner you can enjoy the activities of the hotel or sit on the porch and watch the waters of the Straits of Mackinac, the boats, and the Mackinac Bridge.

Tuesday, October 4
Breakfast at Grand Hotel starts your day on Mackinac Island.
 
Today you are on your own to explore Mackinac Island. Bicycles are available for rent if you would like to ride around the island. “Downtown” Mackinac Island, the area by the docks, is a short walk or carriage ride away from the Hotel. That area is filled with shops and restaurants.

Enjoy another dinner in Grand Hotel.

Wednesday, October 5
Breakfast at Grand Hotel!

8:30 am Depart from Grand Hotel and take our wagon to the ferry dock.

9:00 am Ferry to St. Ignace, where we will meet our motorcoach.

Continuing northward in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (U.P.), we’ll arrive in Paradise to have lunch at Tahquamenon Restaurant.  

If you would like to see the Tahquamenon Falls, a trail from the restaurant offers spectacular views along the way to see it.   
After lunch we’ll continue to Whitefish Point on Lake Superior.

Here we will visit the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum.
Arriving at Sault Ste. Marie, we’ll check into our hotel, the Holiday Inn Express.

Dinner is included at Goetz’s Lockview Restaurant.

After dinner you’ll have time to visit some of the shops along Portage Avenue here in Sault Ste. Marie.
And you can walk to the nearby Soo Locks Park where you might even see a ship passing through the locks.

Thursday, October 6
Start your day with breakfast in the hotel.

9:00 am You can take the elevator or climb the 292 steps to the top of the Tower of History for a view of the area. From 25 stories up you’ll see the Soo Locks and across the St. Marys River into Canada.

10:00 am Famous Soo Locks Boat Tours will take us through the locks and perhaps we’ll see a Great Lakes freighter up-close.

Departing from Sault St. Marie, we will ride across “Big Mac”. 
The Mackinac Bridge crosses over the Straits of Mackinac where two of the Great Lakes, Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, meet.

We will make a stop for lunch as we travel today.

Later this afternoon we’ll arrive in Lansing, Michigan.

Friday October 7
Breakfast is in the hotel’s restaurant, Bordeaux.

9:00 am Before departing from Michigan, we’ll tour their State Capitol.

10:15 am ET Depart from Lansing

As we travel, we can enjoy memories of fun and new friends. 

5:30 pm CT This evening we return to Evansville. (B)
