7:00 am CT (8:00 am ET) Depart from Lakeside Commons (N. Side of Lot by ONB)

Please feel free to bring morning snacks and beverages.  

(No milk products, please) We will stop for a break as we travel.

 

Lunch is included at Motorheads in Springfield.

Housed in a building that originally was a Stuckey’s along Route 66, Motorheads offers a comfortable place for lunch and enjoying memorabilia of the Mother Road and Springfield.

 

1:30 pm Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum.

President Abraham Lincoln – A DoubleTree Hotel.

We will check-in and freshen up before dinner.

 

Before dinner or after, you might enjoy taking a walk through “Mr. Lincoln’s Neighborhood”. The National Park Service has restored the block by the Lincoln Home so that the only homes here now were here when the Lincoln family lived on his block.

Friday, March 31

Full Breakfast is included in the restaurant of the hotel.

This was the home of the Lincoln family for 17 years. 

We will have time in the Visitor Center and walk through the Home.

 

Great Western Depot  

Mr. Lincoln boarded a train here in 1861 to begin his trip to Washington, having been elected President. https://www.nps.gov/liho/great-western-depot.htm

 

11:20 am Lincoln Tomb

 

 

This is the final resting place for President and Mrs. Lincoln and three of their four sons. Their oldest son, Robert, is buried in Arlington Cemetery. https://www2.illinois.gov/dnrhistoric/Experience/Sites/Central/Pages/Lincoln-Tomb.aspx

 

NOON: Lunch is included at Cafe Moxo in Springfield.

 

1:30 pm Dana-Thomas House.
