Portland is the largest city in the U.S. state of Maine and the county seat of Cumberland County.Tourists visit Portland's historic Old Port district along Portland Harbor, at the mouth of the Fore River and part of Casco Bay, and the Arts District, which runs along Congress Street in the center of the city. Portland Head Light is located in nearby Cape Elizabeth and marks the entrance to Portland Harbor.
Portland is a city located in the Northwestern United States, near the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers in the state of Oregon. As of July 2009, it has an estimated population of 582,130, making it the 30th most populous in the United States. Portland is Oregon's most populous city, and the third most populous city in the Pacific Northwest, after Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Approximately 2.2 million people live in the Portland metropolitan area, the 23rd most populous in the United States as of July 2006.
Port Klang is the principal port in Selangor, a state of Malaysia. It also serves as the port for the Klang Valley, Malaysia's most developed region where the capital Kuala Lumpur is located.
There is nothing much to bring a traveller to Port Klang except for the ferry links to Dumai and Tanjung Balai Asahan, both in Sumatra, Indonesia. Port Klang and Klang town is very popular as Food Haven for locals and dynamic entreprenuer business. The largest AEON shopping center in Southeast Asia is operational in 2008 and the largest Wholesale city called GM Klang is projected to commence its wholesale business for products such as fashion apparels, all kinds of bags, ladies accessories, watches, building materials, electrical and electronic devices and more by the mid of 2009. Like most port cities, Port Klang has a seedy feel to it and most of its buildings and structures are maritime-related, such as warehouses, storage tanks and offices.
In maritime terms, Port Klang actually consists of three distinct ports. The port nearest to Port Klang town is known as the South Port. There is also a North Port and the newly developed Westport located on an island just off the coast of Port Klang.
Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is one of eight Metropolitan (or Category A) municipalities in South Africa. It is located on the shores of Algoa Bay in the Eastern Cape province, and comprises the city of Port Elizabeth, the nearby towns of Uitenhage and Despatch, and the surrounding rural area. The name "Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality" was chosen to honour former President Nelson Mandela.
The Port Dickson District (Chinese: 波德申), or PD to locals, is a coastal district in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. It takes just over an hour by car to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Port Dickson along the North-South Expressway. It is a very convenient place to be and have some nice attractions to visit. It is a great alternative to Kuala Lumpur for a transit in Malaysia if you would prefer a beach destination to a city.
Port Canaveral is a cruise, cargo and naval port in Brevard County, Florida, United States. It is one of the busiest cruise ports in the world with 3.9 million cruise passengers passing through during 2014. As a deep water cargo port, it has a high volume of traffic. Over 3,000,000 short tons (2,700,000 t) of bulk cargo moves through each year. Common cargo includes cement, petroleum and aggregate. The port has conveyors and hoppers for loading products directly into trucks, and facilities for bulk cargo containers. The channel is about 44 feet (13 m) deep.
The port exports fresh citrus; bulk frozen citrus juice stored in one of the largest freezer warehouses in the state; cement and building materials. Ten ships, on average, enter the port each day.
Port-au-Prince is the capital and largest city of the Caribbean nation of Haiti. The city's official population was 704,776 as of the 2003 census. The city of Port-au-Prince is on the Gulf of Gonâve: the bay on which the city lies, which acts as a natural harbor, has sustained economic activity since the civilizations of the Arawaks. It was first incorporated under the colonial rule of the French, in 1749, and has been Haiti's largest metropolis since then.
Port Arthur is a small town and former convict settlement on the Tasman Peninsula, in Tasmania, Australia. It is one of Australia's most significant heritage areas and an open-air museum. The site forms part of the Australian Convict Sites, a World Heritage property consisting of eleven remnant penal sites originally built within the British Empire during the 18th and 19th centuries on fertile Australian coastal strips. Collectively, these sites, including Port Arthur, now represent, "the best surviving examples of large-scale convict transportation and the colonial expansion of European powers through the presence and labour of convicts."
Port Arthur is officially Tasmania's top tourist attraction. It is located approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) south east of the state capital, Hobart. In 1996 it was the scene of the worst mass murder event in post-colonial Australian history.
Port Antonio is the capital of the parish of Portland on the northeastern coast of Jamaica, about 60 miles (100 km) from Kingston. It is the island's third largest port, famous as a shipping point for bananas and coconuts, as well as one of its most important tourist attractions, tourism being a major contributor to the town’s economy.
Port Allen is a city in and the parish seat of West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is located between Interstate 10 and US Highway 190 on the West bank of the Mississippi River. Port Allen is home to the Mississippi Riverfront Development which provides a panoramic view of the Mississippi River and Baton Rouge, the West Baton Rouge Museum, the City of Port Allen Railroad Depot, Scott's Cemetery, the Port of Greater Baton Rouge, the Port Allen Lock.
Port Allen is named for Governor Henry Watkins Allen.
